Re: mountain bike help

wow.. actually just got back from my first ride.

i ended up with a new 07 kona kikapu that i bought earlier from The Path bike shop in Tustin. i talked them into $699 WITH NO TAX, and an additional 10% off I talked to the place that had for $599 but they were impersonal asshats so i took some advice from socaltrailriders.org and went to The Path.

WOW.. I Feel like im going to die from the first ride. i havn't had a workout like that since football training.

ill post up a pic tonight. i am thrashed!!!

Great sled! Super pick and really good price, IMHO.

Congrats!

Re: mountain bike help

Excellent choice for the money. This rig looks like it has a lot of travel front and rear. You will feel very tired the very first few times you go out, so the key is to ride regularly (3 times a wheek) then you'll be in good shape within a month or two to kick ass on the trails. One thing is for sure, once you're in shape, riding mountain bikes becomes a much much more enjoyable sport, nothing compared to your first ride! You will not regret getting the full suspesion, you wait and see.

Congratulations, and enjoy!
K.

FYI, Mongoose makes some very nice high end trail bikes... not just WalMart crap. High end Mongoose bikes cost thousands of dollars and are well spec'd.

Dual Suspension Mountain Bike
As an owner of a bike shop that used to sell GT and Schwinn (Both owned by the same parent company as mongoose), that yes they do have excellent parts kits for the money, however their frames are built out of the crappiest tubes and the suspension leaves much to be desired. my opion is do not buy any mongoose.
