Re: tool brands?

Can't go wrong with Craftsman for the money. Although nice tools, in general I think only professionals can justify the premium brands like Snap-On. Some the Husky stuff is OK and even some of the stuff from places with True Value and Do-It best tools. I've even got some of the Kobalt stuff just because it's cheap.

Won't do that again though as I am really trying to concentrate on buying American even if it costs more.

Re: tool brands?

Craftsman I think is the only way to go for a weekend warrior mechanic, since you can always run to a Sears and get replacments for damaged tools.

Thank you, everyone. Looks like I'm headed to Sears now. I never made it to Home Depot as I was starving after too much time spent in the oh-so-horrid ToysRUs (just shoot me now!).... GAWD I hate that place.

Yeah Woodsman, I like Made in America too.

I have mall-ophobia, so believe me, I avoid it at all costs. I try to do most shopping online, but I can't imagine what shipping would cost on a large tool set plus big red box...

And besides there's that scam going on in the Home Depot parking lot!

Here's the thread describing it: Scam Be Careful

Re: tool brands?

Hey guys, Craftsman is on sale, today is the last day!! 40 bucks off on the 4 drawer tool box on wheels. I think I am going to order this stuff in the comfort of my own home, then arrange to pick it up! Perfect, as my husband will be out of town all this week.... and I was just thinking about where am I going to store this stuff out of his sight?? Don't want to leave it in the FJ 'til Xmas! LOL

Oh YAY! The mall is going to be a NIGHTMARE this weekend... I can pick up during the week.

We also need a tall ladder. Would that be a really lame Xmas gift??

Totally agree with the "ONLY" reason to go to Sears. I recently had a Kenmore Ref. start acting up and after 4 visits by Sears techs it was fixed. Will the Techs do a great job the customer service at Sears is absolutely horrible!!
When you call for an appointment for repair the standard answer is we will be there between 8-5 on your appt. day. They have outsourced some of their customer service centers to Guadalajara. All in all, terrible customer service!!

Re: tool brands?

Craftsman for wrenches and sockets but, Klein for screwdrivers and pliers (Lowe's has great selection)! Can't go wrong with either. K
