Any Whitewater people out there in FJ land?

I'm a newb on the FJ front, but I thought I'd see if there are any Whitewater canoers around to swap stories and/or photos of great trips. As soon as I sell my Saltwater tank, I can buy my new WW canoe....Mohawk X13. Anyone have any other models they prefer?

Re: Any Whitewater people out there in FJ land?

I haven't done any whitewater canoeing but have done a couple of rafting trips on the New and Gauley. If I can find the time I'd really like to learn to whitewater kayak and also explore some other rivers via either raft or kayak. It's on the to-do list

I have also started building a wood kayak for lake/sea use. Hopefully, it will see water this year

I've never done canoeing but have done just about all the rivers in Maine in rafts.

Me and a few friend's did it twice last summer, we are defiantly going again this summer. But this time my wife will be going as well . For anyone who has not tried it yet, you will get hooked on it once you do .

Re: Any Whitewater people out there in FJ land?

My DH is an avid white water kayaker and was stoked when we bought the FJ to see how easy it's going to haul all his wet gear (around here we have more white water in the winter, so most of his boating is in times when he needs a dry suit and all that "warm" stuff). His current boat is a Wavesport T2-I get all of his "hand-me-downs". If anyone knows any great white water on the East Coast-post up (he's done most of PA, some places in WV, MD, and NC).
