Re: The Official "Bike Rack" Thread

Looks like the Raxter is a great rack. I am looking for a solid singe bike rack and the Raxter looks like the best out there. Interested in additional feedback.

I would go for the raxter all the way, customer service from them is AWESOME. Its not often that you call a company and are able to talk to the owner/ Engineer behind the product here is a link that reviews their racks.

Raxter Bike Rack Reviews

Raxter Rack - Mtbr.com Pro Review - Mtbr.com Forums

I have had on on my car and I drive like I stole my car and the bikes are on there solid. Very confident in the rack light weight and easy to handle. I also like the fact that the rack does not make contact with the frame putting unnecessary scratches on it.

I love mine and several friends have gotten them and love them also.

One of the best things I like is the weight and its easy to manage.

Re: The Official "Bike Rack" Thread

I just wanted to let everyone know that you can stuff a 26" bike into the back seat. You have to take the front wheel off of course, but it keeps it safe from crapheads when you have to leave your bike and FJ for a while (hell make that a couple minutes)

This set up works well for road bikes but putting a mountain bike in the back is gonna suck. There will be tons of dirt to clean up.

Re: The Official "Bike Rack" Thread

The Saris mount looks pretty good. What type of mounting plate did you use? Saris has 2 of them and their customer service was clueless when I called. The links below show the different plates. Thanks.

Re: The Official "Bike Rack" Thread

My temp. bike rack. I used Yakima bolt on fork mounts and a strap for the rear tire. It holds 2 bikes.

Re: The Official "Bike Rack" Thread

This Saris spare tire rack works pretty good for 2 bikes. It has a hole for your U-Lock which is nice. You need to buy mounting plate "A" to attach it. I also had to purchase a 15/16" wrench to keep in the car in case I had a flat so I could get to the spare tire. The best thing about this rack is that it's easy to install and remove.
