Post Pics of Your Favorite Vacation Destinations/Activities
So, for a long time now, I've been wondering where to go for my next vacation.
Then it came to me tonight that there's a group of over 17,000 fine people I can ask. Please post pics and thoughts on your favorite vacation destinations and/or activities. We might be able to help one another decide how to spend our next time off from work.
Whether it be domestic or international, one day or one month, simple or extravagant, relaxing or extreme, tropical or artic, with or without our beloved FJCs, post them up!
I'll share my favorite, thus far:
Bora Bora, French Polynesia (March '07).
The view on arrival.
Over-the-water bungalows:
Toys on the beach awaiting your pleasure.
Oh...the seclusion!
Swim with the so friendly and curious sea turtles and fish in the on-premis lagoon:
When you've relaxed to a coma, this tour will surely wake ya up: Snorkel with sharks -- my all-time favorite vacation activity:
Ok, Let's see y'alls.

Ooohhhh 4XX4, I've always wanted to take a trip to Whistler for snowboarding.
It's the premiere N. American destination. Unfortunately, it's becoming very expensive, but it is worth the money. As the '10 Olympics draw closer, the accomodations are becoming few and far between.
Here's some other pics from Jan '07
Another off-road vehicle that's fun.
Nothing more fun than a snowball fight with a tough little gal.
The holidays are extra special with the decorations, but could be hit or miss with the snow. Feb and Mar will be most likely the best conditons.

Doug:
Can you tell me the name of the resort you stayed at?
And to answer your question...
Favorite International Vacation to Date:
Biras Creek Resort, British Virgin Islands. Only 75 guests at one time, and most of the "rooms" are private bungalows...
The Baths...
Top of the Baths Restaurant
The Patio and view from Biras Creek's Dining Room (open air!)
Sunrise from our private patio:
Water toys, a private beach, and the beach bar!
Coupled with a side trip to Key West, FL and a jet ski paradise:
Favorite domestic vacation: Lake Powell, AZ/UT - best jet ski destination ever!

Sandi,
The resort I stayed at in Bora Bora was Le Meridien Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Your photos are beautiful. The Carribean is so captivating with the different shades of blue in the waters and fine white sands. Biras Creek Resorts seems like a good therapeutic place to get away and chill. And Lake Powell looks amazing!

Excellent, thanks. Bora Bora is high on our list for a vacation sometime soonl we just need to take a little more time off, since it's a long trip there from CA. Also, we typically take our vacations in the fall, which is the rainy season in BB. What month did you guys go?

Biras Creek was amazing. I had a personal rec from a friend who had honeymooned there, and swore she'd sell her firstborn to return for their 10th wedding anniversary. The service was unbelievable, and the food was truly fine. I don't think we had a bad ITEM, let alone bad meal. It's all-inclusive, except for beverages. And you really get your money's worth in regards to the privacy and quality. We fear it's spoiled us for good - our last trip a a resort in Puerto Vallarta, even though it was allegedly 5 star - felt more like 3 star, due to the crowds.
Lake Powell was...spiritual. We went with friends, and rented a houseboat for 5 days so we could jetski for the week. It's one trip I am absolutely eager to repeat. And in the grand scheme of things, it was NOT crazy expensive. You just have to be willing to go somewhere remote, and be locked up with people. You'd *better* like 'em. Which definitely narrows the field of people we'd be willing to go with....
