Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

Kobe is a monster. I love watching his jump shot... so pure. When J. R. Smith and Kenyon Martin started talking trash, Kobe put the killer face on and ripped their throats out. Go Lakers!!

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

The radio was talking about how the Denver team look like the 2000 Trail Blazer team with Rasheed Wallace, Bonzi, Pipen. Nuggets really lost their composure tonight. Kobe was 2 points away from a record first quarter for a Laker. He was 1 point shy of breaking his playoff points record. He was also 1 assist shy of his own best playoff record. Some likes to compare him to Jordan. I feel he's better then Jordan. If they were contemporaries, who would you have drafted? I'll take Kobe!

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

I know I am stirring a hornet's nest, but Kobe is not even the MVP on the Lakers least of all the NBA.

They were an average team with a great player until Bynum started realizing his potential then they were world beaters, Bynum goes down, average team again. Gasol comes on board, they are back on top. Kobe is not able to bring up the level of play of his teammates, he is third at best in the MVP ballot in my opinion.

Being an amazingly talented player, and Kobe is that and more, does not make you the most valuable player.

Still, as a long time Laker fan....GO LAKERS!!!

ummm...........if you do not think kobe is the mvp this year then I seriously question your basketball knowledge. Of course the team is gonna struggle without a second go-to guy(bynum, gasol). and Kobe doesnt bring up the level of play of his teammates??? Its funny how gasol transitioned so perfectly into the laker offense whereas a guy like shaq struggle with the suns even though they have a a 2-time mvp(what a joke that is) in steve nash. Oh yea,I wonder how come farmar, sasha, and derek fisher are all having career years????? It couldnt be Kobe drawing all the double and triple teams to get them wide open shots?? Any way you look at it,kobe is the mvp. The mvp is more of a team award now and he lead his team to the best record in the toughest conference race in NBA history. I question how anyone that call themselves a laker fan can say Kobe is not the mvp of the league let alone the lakers?!?!

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

Wasn't that a weird game? The refs were making some strange calls. They would make a bad call, then make another one on the other side to even it out it seems. Sweep!!!

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

yea, neither team played really that good ,but a win is a win and a sweep at that. Utah is gonna be tough, the lakers are gonna have to step up their game.Gasol vs boozer, lamar vs kirilenko , the key is gonna be our point guards staying in front of deron williams. The thing is that utah really doesnt have anyone that can match up with Kobe.Im guessing they will start with brewer on him and throw everyone from kirilenko to deron williams on him. The lakers also need to keep a eye on milsap and try to contain him

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

Deron Williams is really good and it's going to give the Lakers trouble. Kirilenko is not the same since the injury. He seem to have lost a step. I wonder if Bynum will be back middle of that series. The Utah-Houston series is a tough one and whoever comes out of that one is going to be tired and a bit beat up. Should be a much more exciting one to watch.
