ummm...........if you do not think kobe is the mvp this year then I seriously question your basketball knowledge. Of course the team is gonna struggle without a second go-to guy(bynum, gasol). and Kobe doesnt bring up the level of play of his teammates??? Its funny how gasol transitioned so perfectly into the laker offense whereas a guy like shaq struggle with the suns even though they have a a 2-time mvp(what a joke that is) in steve nash. Oh yea,I wonder how come farmar, sasha, and derek fisher are all having career years????? It couldnt be Kobe drawing all the double and triple teams to get them wide open shots?? Any way you look at it,kobe is the mvp. The mvp is more of a team award now and he lead his team to the best record in the toughest conference race in NBA history. I question how anyone that call themselves a laker fan can say Kobe is not the mvp of the league let alone the lakers?!?!
Since it is a matter of opinion I don't think you can question someones basketball knowldge when they dont join you in line to kiss Kobe's butt. There will be plenty of experts with an MVP vote who will not vote for Kebe, does that bring their credentials into question.

I heard an interview with Kobe last week where he was commenting on how this was the first locker room he has been in where everyone gets along. What was the common denominator in all those unhappy locker rooms, KOBE.

He was also asked that since this was such a great group of guys would he be willing to take a salary cut to keep the team together for a while, his respnse was typical selfish Kobe, "thats Mitchs job to keep the team together, I get paid to show up and play"

Go Lakers

The thing that makes me question your knowledge is that you think kobe isnt evn the mvp of the lakers?!? I dont understanmd how you can be a laker fan and not a kobe bryant fan? Isnt that kinda like being a colts fan and not liking peyton manning?

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

Woots. I just read that too. Looking at the stats, it's hard to believe that this is his FIRST MVP.

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

Lakers HAVE to clean up the boards better. If the Jazz get hot from outside then it will not be good. Kobe was basically unstoppable again. They just need to clean up the rebounds and should be good

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

glad they won, but they went to shades of last year and before in stretches of the 4th. kobe would just isolate on the top of the key, and try to take on 2 players, ultimately pulling up for a forced 20 ft jumper. of these he basically air balled 3 of them. there was no movement on the offense. lakers were fortunate they didn't blow that 19 point lead.

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

I missed the game, but I don't like losing big leads. Makes me nervous.

Re: Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

Lakers win. Going into Utah for the next 2. Should be more challenging with Utah's stellar home record.
