Watch out! Lakers and Gasol

Lamar is longer at 6'10 while Artest is 6'7. Both are the same age. Sasha might be gone next year and Mihm will probably get dropped (I think he's at 10-12 million/yr). Bynum will be back next year. Do the Lakers really need Artest with Bynum in the middle? At times Lamar look so good, but sometimes he's a real dog. I just don't know if Artest will disrupt the chemistry of the team. You just never know when he's going to go nuts.

Putting things in perspective:

the best team won - that's an amazing team that Boston put together: Garnet, Pierce, and Allen. Them not winning would have been like.. urh.. the 2004 Lakers not winning

the Lakers are SOOOOOO much better than we ever dreamed possible at the start of the season. Remember back then? Would the Lakers or the Clippers be the best team in LA and would either make the playoffs? Wow: in the finals. Unbelievable.

Not a bad run. OK, they were badly outmatched by the Celtics, but so was every team all season.

Not a bad way to start a new Celts/Lakers rivalry. Hopefully the Lakers can add a few more bits and get the next one.

the thing about lamar ,besides him being a mental midget,is that with bynum healthy he will have to guard guys like carmelo anthony and paul pierce. We need a guy that can help defend perimeter players like that and get his own shot.Lmaar is a really good rebounder,but look what happens when he plays a physical team like the celtics. He cant really rebound as well. The lakers cannot have two soft players on the front line and I'll take gasol over odom easily. I think the lakers need to resign sasha and turiaf, sign artest for the MLE and make a run next year with a lineup something like this

Bynum/Whoever
