what size toboggan?

Ok, I did a search and this topic has NEVER been on here. Since you guys are experts at everything...

I would like to buy a classic wooden snow toboggan, like I had as a kid. Here is a link to one which offers different sizes, but no suggestions as to what I size I should get!

Classic Wooden Toboggan - Rocky Mountain Cabin Decor

We are 2 tall (> 6 ft) adults, and one kiddo. Might be an additional kiddo someday, but I doubt it. The 5 footer, maybe??

Also, if you have other recommendations for a better maker, I'm all ears. Woodsman?? The Canadians may also have some ideas...

thank you!

Re: what size toboggan?

Oh, you gotta go with the 8 footer.

And get the Red Pad too.

Get two and race them.

8 footer for 3 people??

I think that is what my dad had, but we were SIX people! Yep, it used to haul butt and I'll never forget the time we hit a tree. I was on the back so I was able to "escape" before impact.

I thought I was the only one who had monster garage at the age of 12 on my GT Snow Racer "Xtreme"

We recently had family photos over Christmas and 6 adults all but 1 over 6'1 (my mom) an 8 foot toboggan was a tight fit and "action shots" were caos. I think we paid around $125.00 for it after stoping at 3 different places each twice befor committing to a purchase and to top it all off it was picked up at the first place we went to.

As kids we would take a cardboard box, use packing tape on the bottem to make it slippery and take plastic grocery bags to keep it somewhat water proof and attempt juvenial manslaughter with one another. Pushs my siblings over Cliffs (what we called them really just 5 ft drift overhangs around the back of the house). At the end of the day the box was toast and was easily disposed of.

Re: what size toboggan?

I got responses, yahooo! Ok, so if you got 6 adults on an 8 footer, I should be good with a 5 footer, yes?

I am a good skier.... so why would I want a toboggan, you ask? Because it's fun for the little ones. Plus, we are moving to the very flat part of [northern] Germany, so while there will be snow, the hills are wimpy and the best we can do is sled for winter fun. I really want a classic WOODEN toboggan like I had as a kid, and generally they are made in Canada. Not sure what kind of plastic junk they are selling in Germany.

thanks guys and happy VDay!

Re: what size toboggan?

I highly recomend extreme GT snow racing! Like mini moto x on snow. You can bust out full extension superman seat grabs, mulisha airs, hart attacks, heelclickers, big no foot cans and eveything.
