Re: Sports Injuries

zombie,

Your injuries run right along the same lines as my son's who raced at livermore a few times. Many years ago in the Golden state series, he is 39. And he is still racing for Kawasaki on their regional team. He makes good money from them running all the expert classes and the pro class back in Missouri. He won the Golden State 500 pro class many years ago and quit racing for awhile. Back on it now. Says the same thing, just can not give up the flying through the air. Men should fly is one of his comments.

Re: Sports Injuries

Been lucky, compared to some of you!

Kid: Skateboarding and fractured wrist
HS Football: Those side zingers from being out of shape and some headaches
HS Wrestling: Groin tear, and those side zingers from being out of shape
College Powerlifting: Slight pec tear, left labrum partial tear,
Post College Strenght Coach, Powerlifting and Strongman Competitions: microtear in thigh (vastus lateralis), blew my soleus, tons of minor sprains/strains and the worst was I blew my ACL last May in a competition. Running with weight...

Re: Sports Injuries

Just got a foul tip from a softball right in the mouth. My daughter was pitching and the coach's girl was batting. Good thing coach is a dentist. Went to his office and got 4 stitches on the inside of the upper lip and the biggest fat lip I've ever had. Luckily no teeth were lost.

Re: Sports Injuries

I put my tooth threw my top lip the other night after a mid ice collision with a player from the other team. We both had out heads up but both turned the same direction to advoid the hit (both traveling at one another at near top speed- near top speed for no hit guys anyway). Being just a bit shorter I wacked my face on his helmet. The bleeding stopped when my lip swelled up.

Re: Sports Injuries

I can add two ankles and a knee to the hockey list of injuries. I feel inadequate with my three tweaks.

Add one wrist to some motorcycle roadracing.

Re: Sports Injuries

Allow me to add to this growing list:

4 concussions
7 broken ribs
All fingers broken at various times
Meniscus tear in right knee (scoped)
Compound dislocation of left ring finger
6" scar on top of head
12 cuts above eyebrows (2 needed stitches)
3 separated shoulders

All this from the sport I have been playing for over 24 years now...and still play/referee...rugby!

Cheers!

Tim
