I'm angry that they won't let Taiwan use the Taiwan flag (they have to use Olympic flag or they can't be in the Olympics). Taiwan also can't enter as Taiwan. They had a choice of China, Taipei or China Taipei. Babbling for some, but for those in the know, it just politics. They won't allow Taiwan to be recognized as a separate nation.

Didn't the PRC boycott the 1980 Moscow games over the ROC/Taiwan issue? Or was that over the invasion of Afghanistan? There was something about Canada and the "two China" thing as well.. Ron
Edit: China withdrew from the Melbourne Olympic Games in 1956 in protest of the ROC... There is some question as to why they withdrew from the 1980 games. The USSR was not overly concerned with the two China policy and the PRC didn't like it very much

PS; China withdrew from the Melbourne Olympic Games in 1956 in protest of the ROC
China boycotted the 1956 game in Melbourne because Taiwan participated under the name of Formosa.
Taiwan boycotted the 1976 Montreal games because Canada refused to recognize Taiwan as a independent nation.
The 1980's game had some 60 nation boycotting the game due to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
