i guarantee that in an emergency, i will have something in my pocket that will break a window. i always carry my sog, usually have my surefire (you dont know how handy a flashlight is until you have one small enough to have with you all the time), or something else that i can breaka window with. i wouldnt waste money on a lifehammer. if you really want something, get a automatic center punch. its what the cops use to break windows.
I am not the only driver of my 4Runner so I have a lifehammer for my family if they should ever need it. It is super cheap and they don't always carry knives, surefires or center punches.

Re: Gerber LMF II Review

This thread is kind of funny, the LMF is what has been issued to us for about six months now, no complaints so far!

Never seen an auto center punch, so I had to hilite your words and let Firefox bring it up via Google.

Re: Gerber LMF II Review

article on the knife
http://www.gerbergear.com/pdf/Johnson_story.pdf

this should be the complete survival version as opposed to a knife/sheath only infantry version

Can you share your experience with the knife? Observations, complaints, praise, etc. Thanks!

I got the old model LMF that doesnt have any of those sweet contraptions
to the right of your photo I can just see the issue bayonet sheath. I used to have the original/collectible Phrobis version but sold it to pay for other toys.
If there isn't a knife-chat thread already on here we need to start one.

Thanks for the pointer. found it!

Any Knife Guys Out There????

Back on Topic:

The two deals that I listed earlier went off of sale and increased by $7 but I think I found a better one for $74 shipped. There is a tiny bit of uncertainty that it is the complete kit as the on-line Help folks could not go and open one up. They have a money back policy so I ordered one and will see if it is the complete kit or just the knife and scabbard
