Quickfist Mount Prototype

Hey,

I knocked out a rough quickfist prototype to see what you guys think. It will be made of steel with pressed nuts (not welded like I have shown here) at for 3 holes, the other holes will line up with the M-PAC rack holes if you think of something extra that you want to add. The middle hole will have hardware that will serve to keep the mount in place if you decide to switch out quickfists or to just aid in mounting and stability.

The mount and hardware will all be black, I painted it gray to aid in detail for photos.

COST: I can probably price this for forum members at $16.00 (includes mount, hardware and 2 regular sized quickfists). Buy 2 sets (needed for shovels and axes) and the price drops to $30.00 ($15.00 each).

Timeline: I can have these ready to go in about 45 days

Look at the photos and hit me with some opinions. Keep in mind that this is just a rough idea of what the finished product may look like.

Re: Quickfist Mount Prototype

I like this idea, I like versatility, and anything that can be added to your molle mount, is a great idea. I will probably buy at least 1 set when you are completed with production.

Will they be able to mount items both vertically and horizontally? Reason I am asking, some smaller molle bags could easily fit a mag light or something else below them, and not take up space that i find lacking vertically...

Re: Quickfist Mount Prototype

Yes they will be able to mount both ways. There will be added hardware to hold the mounts any way that you position them. I would have these ready by now but the manufacturer messed up and we had to scrap the lot and start over
Heres a preview...

Re: Quickfist Mount Prototype

Seems awfully expensive for what could be done by most people at home with either over sized washers or some scrap steel laying around.

That is a valid opinion, and I am all for individuals who wish to DIY their mounts...as to the expensive part, the mark-up on this item is actually very low...the retail price of 2 quickfists alone is around 10 bucks and 6 bucks added to that for a powder coated mount with retained nuts is actually pretty reasonable. Not to mention that it can be removed or rearranged for a new purpose in a matter of 2 or 3 minutes.

Re: Quickfist Mount Prototype

I wasn't trying to say you had marked it up a bunch. I think your product line is great. I was just throwing in my 2 cents that you may have a hard time selling enough of them to make it worth it. I honestly wish you the best.

Re: Quickfist Mount Prototype

No worries, my hide is pretty thick. I get it from both sides these days...some forum members say the product is too expensive, my accountant and partners say that we don't charge enough

For me it is a labor of love and a pleasant diversion from winter.

Re: Quickfist Mount Prototype

Not that I have piles of cash laying around, but I like the idea of going to a web site and doing some shopping when the kids all go to bed. I guess I'm just lazy.
