Got my back door combo today!

I had a crazy person tell me that I received a box that was an inch thick. Uh oh, that's just the rack... where is everything else? Well, I PM Doc and tell him I only got the rack.

Then I go and get my box. Well, the box was closer to 3 o 4 inches thick, and the rest of the goodies were in the box, just like they should have been. Okay, too bad I already pestered Doc with this.

To make a long story longer, I can already see that I am going to have to get the side rack as well. This is just way too cool!

Pictures to come later...

Re: Got my back door combo today!

Well, I suppose the crazy person might not be all that crazy if he was using the Texas inch as his unit of measure.

Re: Got my back door combo today!

I installed it last night... I could see that being done in 15 minutes after you had done one and had all the correct tools in your hand. It took me nearly an hour, but I was fighting a cloud of mosquitoes and taking breaks to watch some tv.

Re: Got my back door combo today!

Actually, an hour is pretty good time (the side rack takes only 15 minutes to install). My average time at Summit doing installs was about 35-40 minutes. I cheated and had a resin template made that cut considerable measuring time.

Re: Got my back door combo today!

I would have killed for a cordless driver with the correct hex bit in the chuck. I'm going to post a picture in the install thread with the location of all the clips that hold the door panel on. The info is not really needed to take the panel off, but it might give some people a little more peace of mind.
