Toyota Navigation System for FJ Cruiser 'from Canada'?

I just removed my FJammer, Blu-Logic, Garmin In-dash Nav, and Sirius controller and installed this OEM Toyota Navigation System from a Canadian dealer.

Works great, the set up/installation was easy and it does everything and more. This also has maintenance schedules built into the touch screen database to remind you of all required maintenance!

This is a Toyota product - HOW is this NOT an option in the good ole U.S.A. or available as an accessory???

Here is a link to the Canadian site:

Here is a pic of the Ipod connection - it replaces the AUX input (new aux input is on the face of the Nav/radio).

That's a nice unit. Did you buy it from that website for $1700?

$551 on Ebay - and I am very impressed with it! Here is the Ebay link, you can contact the seller to see if he has others available - he has sold quite a few since last year.

OEM Toyota Multimedia Gen6 Navigation Bluetooth | eBay
Looks like the Ebay store is closed since March 10. Do have any additional info?
Additionally, is it compatible with 9-speaker system with OEM subwoofer?
Where did you mount the GPS antennae?
Thanks.

Re: Toyota Navigation System for FJ Cruiser 'from Canada'?

I just bought it in March 2011 - not sure why it shows closed?

Go to the ebay link and "ask the seller a question" - hopefully he still has some left.

It should work with all factory systems (to include the subwoofer), the only exception is the JBL system per the listing.

The GPS antenna mounts under the driver's side dash top storage box.

The .pdf install for this is too large for the forum, if you would like a copy PM me your email and I will send it to you.

Is one able to change the audio jack to USB jack to control the iPod without switching out the head unit? It this possible? Do you know what part numbers are needed?
Thank you in advance.

My guess is that it is possible, but you would need to be an electronics wizard to wire that up, to make it work for both reading/powering through the USB. The only cable I know that Toyota has produced is the one for the the Ipod and that can be bought through any American dealer and hooked up to the OEM head unit.

Re: Toyota Navigation System for FJ Cruiser 'from Canada'?

I just installed this system on my 2008; it was an easy install, thanks to Bruce's advice and works great! I played hooky from work today for an hour and a half and got this installed easily. Thanks again, Bruce!
