Very good point CHI. If you would locate the hole a little more to the "rear" you could make the bracket without 1 of the bends and it would make putting the mounting screws in easier also. since mine is done already, we need a "virgin" to try this improved idea. I'll make a bracket for someone if they want to give it a try....

Hello, great mod idea, I could'nt see cutting a hole in my nice FJ ceiling , so I took out the worthless interior light and put the same one you displayed in its place. Drilled 2 holes in the resessed rib of the ceiling to fit the posts on the light. and drilled the 2 holes for the screws, great fit and OEM look. Works great.

Great idea! Those swivel spots on the GM fixture really work well don't they? And the neat thing is, you can find those fixtures for $5-10 bucks on e-bay.
