Subwoofers

My 2007 fj does not have the subwoofer in the back, so I am looking to put one in. I am thinking 2 10's can anyone give me their opinion on which 10's to get.

Re: Subwoofers

Depend on a couple of factors.
1. Enclosure- are you building a custom enclosure that will sit in the cargo area or are you using an enclosure custom designe to fit over the wheel hump? The internal volume of the may limit the choice of subs
2. How much power from the amplifier?
3. Sound preference
I currently have 1 JL 10W3v3 in a fiberglass enclosure over the driver's side wheel arch. It is powered by a JL XD600/1 mono amp and it is more than enough. The levels are set extremely low and it still produces incredible amounts of bass.

Re: Subwoofers

My amp puts out 340 watts to the subwoofer and i have not decided if i am going to get a custom box for the fj over the wheel hump or just a normal box. When im looking at boxes should i get a ported one or a sealed one and which type of box did you put your LJ in (sealed, ported).

Most installers will use a sealed enclosure.
