Monitor locations, show me yours...

I'm starting to think up my own rock/rear view system. Not sure exactly what I want as far as a monitor/monitors location. I've been looking at quad screen monitors, split screen & also single feed monitors,(1 for each camera), but I think that will take up too much room having 4 or 5 monitors. I'd like to see what others have come up with as far as monitor locations. Please post up pic's of your set up on the dash. I did search & found a few threads but I hope more will reply to this thread. I have a custom overhead console that holds a full size CB, mobile scanner, & light switches that I might add onto to give me a good location for a monitor. Just in the "thinking up a design" stage right now so any idea pic's would be kool. Thanks, MAXX

Re: Monitor locations, show me yours...

I have a switchable 2 camera 3" monitor that sits right on the dash next to the driver A pillar. Takes up very little room and doesnt block any views.

And, in real life unless you are out by yourself you dont really use it. The spotter does a better job than a camera. It does come in handy when parking ...

Re: Monitor locations, show me yours...

Thanks, Most of the time, unless I'm at a get together at an off road park with a bunch of FJ's I am alone. I'll head to the trails around my area early on a Sunday morning & wheel around for a few hours. Nothing too technical, but some harry spots. The reason for my interest in the camera's & monitor/'s is only part rock view, just kicking around a few ideas that seem pretty cool in my mind for now. Thanks again for the pic, I'd like to see a bunch more reply as well so I can really get a good idea of what will work for me.

Re: Monitor locations, show me yours...

The only place I could find room for a 7" monitor. It's close enough to the dash that it dosen't get in the way of the passenger.

Re: Monitor locations, show me yours...

Ya, that's one of the main spots I've been thinking of, there's not all that much open space on the FJ Dash except that area. Thanks for the pic
The more I think about it the more I like the idea of removing the driver side sun visor & adding onto my custom overhead center console that holds my CB & scanner & light switches. The tint strip on top of my windshield is so dark & wide that I never have to use the visor. I think a few 3" or 4" monitors will fit nicely up there. Think I'll start the cardboard form design process at work today.

Re: Monitor locations, show me yours...

I just got my 9" 4-2-1 split screen monitor yesterday (thanks wife) and it'll be cut to sit flush in my sun visor and visible when down. 4 inputs and it's switchable from single camera, dual camera or quad camera displays. I'm trying to decide on cameras now and where/how I want to mount them.
