2013 Map Light Bulbs Replacement

Anyone know how to replace the light bulbs in the 2013 Overhead Console Map Lights (next to CRAWL system)?

These are circular and are operated by a black button switch on the overhead console. They should be 5W wedge bulbs.

I'm interested in this too. Anyone know?

I wrote Toyota and they said to call my dealer. Seriously, how many Toyota techs does it take to change a light bulb?

It would appear the lens twists off, but I can't budge it and don't want to break it.

Want to put some LED bulbs in there, because the stock ones are weak.

I'm curious too. I've already scuffed the housing trying to pry the lens out like you can on the dome lights

I'll probably be looking into that this weekend. From the picture I saw with wikid's out it looked like they would just pull out from the back side. Is that not the case?

No I don't think they do. If I remember correctly, my 2008 the lens came off and thats how I swapped the bulbs. With the 2013 the interior is pressed in there somehow. I really didnt want to force it until I asked first!!!

I didn't take the bulbs out, but if you look on either side of the harness below the upper circular posts, that have a hole in them, you will see knobs that turn. I am confident you can turn those and access the bulbs inside
You have to firmly pull down on the corners of the unit to get it off. It just pops back into place, so it's a little hard to pop it off

Thanks. I think I'll mess around with it tomorrow. Tugged on the console a bit but I was afraid of pulling too hard..
