Re: Heated Seats: Full Intall with Pics

I brought our new FJ home last night (12 miles on the odo). It was snowing and this morning we woke up -9F. I told the wife about your success and she said..... you've already order the parts right..........?

I'll be putting them in very soon. Too cold to work on the vehicle right now. The FJ is sitting outside and the block heater is sitting in the garage waiting to be installed.

It works amazingly well. 5F last night, it takes 30secs to feel the goodness. My ass is hot WAY before any signs of life come from the vents. My new remote start makes it even more comfortable before I climb in.

Don't you think to really finish it off nicely you should buy a Lexus insignia and install it in place of the Toyota insignia? Good job though!

Re: Heated Seats: Full Intall with Pics

I have found that since I went with sheepskin covers on my seats it seems to have negated the need for seat heaters so far. I thought I'd still possibly need them since all my other cars have heated seats but the sheepskin have done the trick so far. It might be something to consider as well. Here is a link to my post with pics.

Seat covers from Costco came in but…

I love global warming, society is more productive and I don't have to shovel my drive so often...

Keep it up and Minnesota might actually be worth living in. What they want for property around here makes you think you are buying property in SoCal on the beach. I never new frozen tundra was so valuable until I moved here.

No. I have rubber floors with no mats. I took out my back seats. I lifted my ride 3" and put on 285s. I don't drive a Lexus, I drive a kickass, barebones FJ. And my ass is warm when it's cold outside.

Re: Heated Seats: Full Intall with Pics

I had heated seats installed today. Would do it myself, but I don't have the time at this moment. Thanks for the write up!! Good info for the future.

Re: Heated Seats: Full Intall with Pics

nice job do you think a string on the end of the wire while pulled thru would help to reinstall the wire? with the string pulled out so to let you move the cover . then to guide the wire back into place after. like a fish in elec. wire pulling.

Re: Heated Seats: Full Intall with Pics

A BIG thanks from me on this one FJammin. I will definately be ordering these. Living in Edmonton, where the temps drop to absurd levels on occassion the heated seats are great to have. The wife has them in the VW Beetle and they are real handy.

I have already printed your instructions. Just need to verfy with the dealer that I won't screw my warranty by installing them and I will order them.

Thanks again for taking the time to post this.....
