Talking Re: Air2air's FJ computer mount - step by step

Hey Air can you fabricate one for me out of Diamond plate?LOL I stopped by your website. Who was your mentor Devinci? Great work even if the finish product looks better from a far. I could probably make one out of wood, anyone interested?

What the Hell!?! You sure are passionate about your FJ. Really cool that you did your own fabricating, and the schematics are very nice. What is it that you do for a living again, make military weapons or something?

Re: Air2air's FJ computer mount - step by step

Thanks for the fine compliments guys. On the subject of selling them, I'm considering having a production run made, perhaps 50 or so. They would be in the neighborhood of $150-$200. Also they would be ready to go for laptops.

I'd do it if there were enough interest - it would be cool to meet up with you guys and see you computing away. Landrover I'm a 42 year old retiree but perhaps we should add some military weapons to the FJ, eh?

I was just about to ask this too...what do you do for a living? Even the layout of the photos and the shots taken are amazing. Give up some info!!

Re: Air2air's FJ computer mount - step by step

Thanks guys... I've been a web dude by trade. On the photos, I took out the backgrounds because my workbench is such an embarassing mess. Fortunately this also has the side effect of cleaning up the presentation.

The red lines are done on a separate photoshop layer. To take out the backgrounds there are a number of tools, but most of the time you lasso the part, and then select "inverse", and then hit delete which gets rid of everything but the part you want.

There was liberal cleanup of my crappy rattle can paint job. Production versions would be powdercoat of course. Which leaves the possibility of color-matching it to the car.

If you go into production, I'll buy one sight unseen - it is absolutely awesome.

Great work, Air2Air

Yes, make them and I'll gladly buy one for $200

In addition to NAV/GPS, I'd load up the hard drive with all kinds of great iTunes playlists and play them through the aux jack on the FJammer.

Excellent workmanship and write-up. I'd be interested in getting one.
