Re: AVIC-D3 Bypass

Sorry, pics were too big. I resized and re-upped them. Should work now.

Re: AVIC-D3 Bypass

can you adjust the picture so you can fill up the screen?i know those are widescreen movies, but it would be nice to fill the screen.do you have sirius connected as well, and if you do is the interface just as crappy as the d1?

Re: AVIC-D3 Bypass

I don't have sirius. That video is playing from my ipod. I don't know if I can adjust it to fill the screen. DVD's play full screen though. I was going to get the XM with NavTraffic but apparently NavTraffic only works in a few major cities.

that's the original aspect ratio. it will either stretch the picture, or cut off the sides. not giving you the picture you're intended to see.

Re: AVIC-D3 Bypass

I will be installing mine next week.I have a few questions.
1) What wire are you connecting your pink wire to on the drivers side. And is this for the backup cammera to operate? You stated reverse.
2) Why do you need to tap into the speed sensor wire.I thought that the D3 had an internal gryo?
3) Has anyone installed the steering wheel control?I have heard it will take you about an hour to program.

Re: AVIC-D3 Bypass

The pink wire(I should have used the purple wire) goes to the reverse signal. This is so the unit can track when you're moving backwards and for the backup camera. it uses the speed sensor when there is no good signal available. It does have an internal gyro. To my knowledge, the gyro is not used for speed. Only direction. I don't even think the million dollar gyros on subs do speed.
