2 - No, the outlets are rated for 10A. Get an adapter that clips directly to your battery, but understand that you're drawing quite a bit of amperage and you're going to run your battery down quicker than you think (if it draws 16A continuous).
Does that mean if i connect the accessory itself direct to the battery but it's reated to 10A and then connect it to the kettle would that be a problem or it will work but it will draw a lot of power?

3 - Well, Yes. However, I highly suggest you find local or order the add-a-fuse. They're everywhere here: Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Advance. The fuse ensures that in case you have a short circuit, the wires don't go up in flames (possibly along with your FJ).
The accessory itself has a 10A fuse, so would it still be OK if i connect it directly to the fuse box with the wire crimp as i can't find the tap a fuse accessory here (BTW I'm from DUBAI, UAE)

3 - The crimp method was my first idea and a PITA, I have changed it to a add-a-circuit. You can get it Amazon.com: Wirthco 30103 Tapa-Circuit- Mini: Automotive and I have bought these from Advanced Auto parts.
May I know why was it PITA? May i know what the problems you face with the wire crimp?

Thanks.

You need to cut the plastic insulation off of the end a red connector exposing the metal and then squeeze the end of it into a flat-ish shape the will slide into one side of the fuse slot. It is hard to get it the right shape, so it fits snug but not loose.

This means if you connect the kettle that draws 16A to a 10A outlet, you're going to blow the fuse, or if there is no fuse, burn up the wiring (or at least heat it up nice and warm).

I would not tap into the fuse box unless I was using an add-a-circuit. I'd order the add-a-circuit and wait for it if you're having a hard time getting it locally there.

If you connect the accessory directly to the battery, the alligator clamps should be good for up to 20A or so. Many of the small, high-volume air pumps are this way (too much current for the cigarette lighter plug, but alligator clips to clip to the battery).

Unfortunately i tried to order the add-a-circuit from the link provided above on amazon but they don't ship them overseas. Does anyone know of any other site on which i can order them and they ship it to Dubai, U.A.E?

Thanks so much everyone for the input.

Re: How to add another 12V Power Outlet

I have referred to this post and your CB install post about 40 times over the last 4 months. This weekend I installed a 12V and my CB and it kicks ass thanks to you. If anyone in the LA area needs help installing the CB and 12V, I am happy to help you out. Anyone is welcome to use my SWR meter too. Thanks again for the detailed and dead on posts.

Re: How to add another 12V Power Outlet

I am adding a third outlet to the right of the shifter in the center. If the outlet interferes with the plastic tab on the right side of the auto shifter housing is there any reason I can't trim that piece? Not sure what function it serves.
