What size and type is your Broadway mirror - 240 mm convex?

This way to mount it may be a viable option. Thanks for the great write up, Steve!!
Let's see some pics if you mount it that way, Dave.

Cool idea, Calisun.

Is that just a good old fashioned conduit clamp you're using there??

I bought this mount from E bay. I wish I am handy as you are Steve.. but I am not. This is mount that I used. With stock Magellan mount, It's hard to adjust angle as I like them and they stick out way too much. It's bike mount for Magellan..:P

Re: GPS: Overhead / Rear-View Mirror Installation Mod w/ lots of pics!!

i did almost the exact thing with a nuvi 260w and a word of warning, while it looks great, without an external antenna like this setup, it takes 10 or more minutes to get a signal if i even get one. just a heads up. search "garmin question" for some pics and its easy to screw the suction mount to the rear view mirror plate....but an fyi on signal strength.....

My GSP is Magellan 4250 and I don't have that issue. When my gps was off for over night, then it takes me about 4 min go get signal however, most of times, I get it soon as I turn it on. I usually get 100% to 75% signal. I live in CA.. Maybe it makes difference..:P

Great point for some other gps unit!!!
