I am pretty sure this is just for the auto. I think he was at sometime going to be working on a clutch override one for the MT. Just be sure to leave that puppy in neutral otherwise
beepbeep, beepbeep, beepbeep, vroommmm, crash!

But where I live, I will definitely want to do this with three "lock" pulses or my FJ will be gooooone! I don't mind using the key.
Another one to add to my must do mod list!
Thanks! Here is some rep... dammit! Nevermind.
Ok Joel, this is an easy fix for you, if you want to use the lock pulse use the Blue/Red wire in Picture 5 understand that the FJ will be locked and the key fob will not work once the car is started you WILL have to use the key. I added the lock option in the DIY Thanks again

One more thing... is there any sort of in gear failsafe for this on an MT? My buddy leaned against a desk and triggered his remote start on his Miata two nights ago and it ran into a concrete wall.
His doesn't... and I could live with that if I was super careful... I think...
you would need to lean on the unlock...or lock in your case three times in a row to start the FJ plus the car shouldn't be in gear if you do a remote start on a MT.
PS:what the word on the scion stuff? PM me
Very cool of you do the research and work and then to share with everyone. I will definatly be doing this one. I was looking at the unit from one of the ebay sponsors and if I was looking at the right one, it came with two remotes; I'm guessing they were not used. I would rather not use them and have like you wrote up using the factory key fobs.
Hey six speed owners....the FJ comes with a clutch override...right? so how does it work? need info...thanks
It's a button...
1. you put the key in the ignition
2. turn the key to on
3. push the over-ride button
4. the little light comes on, MAKE SURE TRUCK IS IN NEUTRAL (unless you want it to take off when you do the next step)
5. turn the key to start and wah-lah!
I really want a remote start system on mine - well done on the write up - do you think its possible for this system to work in conjucntion with the RS3200 (or whatever it is) alarm system toyota offer? (which mine has)

so if you leave the button pushed in the "on" will it always override?
