You have to push it again after the truck ignition is turned off.
Sh!t, ok I was hoping to use this override to do the remote start but being it's a one time override I'll write up one...damn just lazy

I really want a remote start system on mine - well done on the write up - do you think its possible for this system to work in conjucntion with the RS3200 (or whatever it is) alarm system toyota offer? (which mine has)
Okay sorry for the crap answer here is a better one...the remote start works with the factory alarm because when you push the "unlock" on the fob three times, the first push unlocks the FJ... disabling the alarm allowing the fj to start, so yes it will work and this is why/how

...but what if I'm going to use the "lock" pulses instead? Will the RS3200 disable the starter? I would assume that it works during the "arming" delay of 30 seconds, but what if the alarm is already armed when the 3 "lock signals" are received?

do you have an 07 or 08? because the lock pluse works fine on the 07...also this DIY is for the 07 only! You would need a mod box for the 08

07 here. Also, will this interfere with the programming on the RS3200? I noticed that there is a step in the RS3200 manual that requires locking and unlocking the doors multiple times in succession in order to get the ECU into the programming mode.

Re: DIY FJ Remote Start RS-1304dp

Going back to saved threads, I'm wondering if anyone has done this mod recently. Does everything work fine? Any details would be helpful. Anyone with this on their rig for the past few months, including the OP, please let me know how it's faring or if you would have done anything differently.

Thanks,

Mike

Can't remember, but did you ever give a total cost for the stuff needed?

Regards,

Mike

Nope, I'm not too sure on cost. I work at a music/audio shop. I could bag all the stuff you would need and sell it to you.... extra wire and taps as well.
I heard people are picking up units on ebay cheap as well
