Even with 5 people, towing a 14 foot trailer with 2 quads, 275 70/17's, a lift, extra weight from all the crap I've put on this truck, uphill, against the wind this truck still doesn't get 10 mpg. You're doing something wrong or you're leaking gas.
I'm just reading what the scanguage says. on the way out the desert and thru the mountains the other day I was averaging 6 tops but then again the wind was so strong It would bog down the truck in 3rd gear. I am thinking I have something wrong, I'm not leaking gas, I keep it garaged and would definitly smell it when tilting on trail. I'm just skerred to bring it to the dealer for any reason. What could it be that would make it do this? I am clueless.
Hmm, try this...forget the scanguage. Fill your tank and 0 out your trip odo and calculate your gas mileage this way. See if the error is in the scanguage. Let us know what you get, I'm certainly curious as heck.

Re: My scanguage II is depressing me
It'll do that.. It reads virtually instantaneously.. So your mileage is that bad sometimes. On my TJ it would go from like 4MPG to 37MPG (i.e. up the mountain and down the mountain.. Ron

I am going to reset the gauge, I was reading the manual and it said to start at a quarter tank for the first fillup and some other little things I overlooked. I will post an update later. I do know I get about 3 1/2 hours of driving form topped off ful till the light comes on
The one thing that really does depress me about this SGII is this:
You've been very diligent about putting in the FILLUP info every time and then all it takes is one slip up and the accuracy is blown. Last weekend in Mammoth, during a snow storm, I filled up and forgot to do the SGII stuff. Now I'm paying the price. My SGII was reading within 1/10th of a GL for Tank TO EMPTY. I figured 1/10 because of the amount SGII was indicating it should take to fill the tank. You see, once the SGII gets accurate, it really is nice POM. Also, you know which gas station is gouging, and your TANK TO EMPTY function is killer while off road. That's the one thing.

That's true.. Mine bit me in Moab last summer. It needs the computer interface so we could just hook it up, delete the bad stuff and/or make corrections.. Ron

FYI make sure that when you reset your SGII for the first full tank DO NOT enter in how much gas it took to fill the tank just set your engine size, tank size, etc. I repeat DO NOT enter in how much gas it took to top off the tank on the FILLUP screen on the first initial reset of the SGII. On the next fillup, you can enter in the amount of gas it took to fillup and all others until you forget and have to reset and start over again =).
