I must say - I was skeptical - and sure enough - the SWR meter pegged - low and behold it was the radio shack 90 degree elbow - I junked that connector and wound up dialing on the 4' firestik a wonderful 0.0 ultimately on both channel one and forty. Needless to say the mount works flawlessly. Your a freakin genious!

Is there a CB antenna that is short enough not to go past the roofline that actually will work? (Garage) ... or something VERY easy to pull on and off .. but that would be a pain everytime I drive into the garage.
you can get an antenna quick-disconnect to pop the antenna on and off. if you keep the antenna below the roofline, you will get poor reception and awful swr's. go for as tall of a whip as possible and a q-d
Thanks a lot dbbd1. I thought that was the case. I had a CB in my Chevy truck back in '95 that was a running joke because I installed it so poorly. The range was exactly one city block! lol
Does anyone know where I can buy the tallest, meanest whip with a quick disconnect? GI Joes? A truck supply store? I'm in Portland. I want to use the mount for a sand dune flag also and swap them out if possible.
