Magellan GPS mounting Hardware.

Purchased bike handle bar gps mount.

Mounted on the pole of review mirror and extended power through head liner.

This cost $15 but no need to spend time on custom install. Thanks to Landcruisersteve and some other forum members for idea. I really like this setup.
1. It's very well hidden from out side. I still taken them out every time except when it's parked in my garage. No clustered interior
2. No need to worry about sun hitting GPS screen
3. Easy view. No need to turn your head to look at GPS. This mount is made by Arkon and they are very strong.

This was my old GPS used to sit.. Well, got it stolen..

Re: Magellan GPS mounting Hardware.

I have a Magellan also. Do you have any reception issues with it up there and no external antenna?

paraextreme:

How do you like that Magellan Crossover?

I have a Magellan 4000 for street use and business travel and absolutely love it.

I bought a Lowrance Baja 540 for off-road... very capable unit but man, that UI sucks.

I've seen the Magellan Crossover at Cabela's and wished I had gone in that direction... review please--thx!

Re: Magellan GPS mounting Hardware.

It's a fantastic GPS, but they really need to update the POI database. For instance, they have a gas station around the corner from my house that hasn't been there for 4+ years...

The Topo maps are sweet though and I love being able to take it and use it like a regular GPS.

I'm glad I bought it, put it that way.

It take me few min when GPS is turned off for while.. It will take me 4 min ish to get signal in the morning when I first drive off. After that, I get full bar to 75% bar of signal. Well, I live in CA. My traffic seems to be working okay buy I juse google map pda version to check my traffic most of time. With Magellan 4250, you get free 3 mon traffic but I will not be buying more traffic time.
