Bill,
I ended up putting it along the fender a little forward of where you installed yours (next threaded nut forward). After looking at it, it seemed that it should be pointed down (as you stated - for drainage) and did not see the break away extra length of cable that BobbyNGa found to reach the wheel well location I mentioned.
This mod really does make a difference. The combined tone actually makes it louder and the sound is much better than the single horn. Thanks to everyone that brought this to our attention and Bill for posting detailed pics.

Ditto...and that is why Bill is the SUPER MODERATOR!!!
A lot of guys in the 4runner groups use these horns:
Fiamm 44759-0VGA Hi Freq
Fiamm 44760-0VGA Lo Freq.
$ 9.99 each at harbor freight. Good horns. Cheap. Loud as Roseanne Barr. (130db !! ) I've got some on my F150 to make the idiots on cell phones hang up and drive. Also works very well to startle the baggy pants, reverse baseball cap idiots who cross the street real slow in front of you...
I just bought a real/used French Boat/Diving 12v horn off Ebay. Sounds like a submarine dive horn! It will go in that area on the passenger side by the firewall. Wanted TRAIN HORNS, but used some restraint this time
$$$###$$$$ Tada! 301 posts and still no FJ LOL $$$$###$$$$
I still like my location better, up front on opposite side of original horn and there's even a threaded hole for it. Just cut and splice to reach. Paul H
