Welcome to the FJ Cruiser Forum from Vancouver Washington.
Maybe you need a battery change in the key.
Show a pic of your key with buttons on it.
My '08 doesn't have an alarm, but I can make the horn go off.

Alarm questions

When my alarm goes off the side markers head lights and tail lights flash but there is no sound out of the truck
Same thing happens when I hit the panic button on the remote
The horn on steering wheel works fine
Also I have the chirp when ever I lock or unlock
My question is does the alarm use its own horn and if not what could be wrong with mine
Thank you all in advance

Hi Velija,
Welcome to the forum!
The previous owner may have disconnected the siren or the alarm system's connection to the horn. My FJ doesn't have an alarm, so I'm just guessing here.
Also check all the fuses related to the alarm system.
I think there has been another member with the same issue - try searching the forum?
