To reply in defense to the forum user comment about the pocketbook attack, which if I can assume the FlexPED had no chance, if being yanked off as the person exited the car. Either AdPad is not designed to be reinstalled a second time, we would recommend a second installation with the AdPad-VHB for secure holding power.
My thread was not intended as an attack but as information about a product very similar to the one originally posted.
The pocketbook was tossed in, like many other items throughout the day to day life in an FJ. It caught the mount and pulled it off clean; leaving me to believe the adhesive material had not bonded. It is my thought that the mount would be better secured with the 4 screw method. I'd love to give the AdPad-VHB a shot though. But I think the people using these vehicles offroad and in adverse conditions might benefit more from a more secure mounting style.
I like the FlexPed, I just want it to stay where I stick it.

It was meant in a joking way (pocketbooks are sometimes used in violent ways) Ha! I didn't think this accident was intention on your part, just potentially not fair to the product. Anyway, I totally agree with you and as you will see from this link the prototype was tested in a 4" lifted 07' Rubicon that assure everyone if it did not work I would not let it to the market.
Send me your email and lets see if an AdPad-VHB will solve your issue.

I've used 3M-VHB double stick adhesive tape before and it is VERY tough stuff. I'm sure if you try re-adhering the unit with the VHB you will have better results. As well, typically you have to use an alcohol pad to clean the surface before adhering the pad to it.

ThoughtOutBiz ~ You may not have an answer for this, but here it goes...
I don't have an I-phone, but I do have a Treo Pro. It is VERY close in size to the I-phone. I don't have the specs handy, but most of the pocket sleeve style cases that fit the I-phone fit the Treo Pro perfectly.
Can you venture a guess as to if your product would work for me?

Scollins,
We specialize just in the the iPhone and iPod touch but if the Treo is as close as you say it is I am sure it will work because of our unique ability for you to custom form our PED3 and NAJA product line. http://www.thoughtout.biz/files/PED3-Auto/Images/15.jpg
I agree. The proclip looks far superior to either of those clips. Much more versatile and stout. I've had mine, Three of them, for a long time and never had a single failure of any kind.
I have this product. I originally used the adhesive to mount it, but had to change locations so I used the screws.
The cradle holds the iPhone perfectly. Never has a problem holding it. The whole mount is low profile and looks good.
Im still not happy with the location but will try another soon.
