IPhone Mount...This Ones Nice.

Recently picked up an IPhone and most of the car mounts are pretty cheesy plastic, have a look at this one, it mounts nicely via suction cups...2 other mounting options included.

Re: IPhone Mount...This Ones Nice.

I used this mount. Well I guess you could say I used it...it lasted about two days. I put it on the passenger side of the console. It was ripped off shortly thereafter. (pocketbook)
It's a decent design and held the iPhone or whatever else you have in place. Comes with a couple different spaces to adjust the width of the clasp. The mount has holes to screw or bolt it into place...that may be my next attempt at mounting it. The adhesive tape doesn't work though...tried it in two different vehicles. I've got a post here about it, I'll try to link it here.

Just thought I'd throw out my experience.

Found it: Post your iphone mounts

Re: IPhone Mount...This Ones Nice.

I got a cheapo mount from kragen that clips onto the vent louvers, best 11 bucks spent. it's nice because I use my iPhone as my street GPS. The OP one looks sweet but after the breakage report above, I'd be leery on 50 bucks.

Re: IPhone Mount...This Ones Nice.

I need to correct a few misconceptions on this thread with these products, yes there are two separate products that are mentioned here and they must not be confused.

Before discussing the actual product details of these products, everyone should know all of our products are QUALITY 100% made in the U.S.A. The price justifies the quality and the ability of future upgrades or changes you may require with new locations and or devices. We don't believe in throwing the product out because you change the vehicle or device.

Our latest PED3-Auto Car Mount+ is a full rotating multiple mounting option holder with three supplied options.
  • AdPad -VHB ™ is an aggressive double sided adhesive pad developed to obtain quick and easy installations onto many materials, including today's low energy surfaces like the slick surfaces (polypropylene, polyethylene, silicone and teflon based, etc) found in car panels and dashboards. It also works on traditional materials like glass, metal, wood, painted surfaces etc. This is only intended to work one time in one location, however spare parts are available if you intend to move it to another vehicle.
  • 4 Suction Cups for easy window or flat slick surfaces
  • Screw mount (4 custom screws supplied)
  • Other mounting techniques available.
We are in the process of releasing 4" extension necks (more than one can be used) for those needing longer mounting neck.
PED3-Auto models available for iPhone or iPod touch and compatible with our NAJA and PED3 products.

The other product mentioned here is our FlexPED and was supplied with our original AdPad that does NOT have holding power that the new AdPAD-VHB has (AdPad-VHB is supplied with the above PED3-Auto).

To reply in defense to the forum user comment about the pocketbook attack, which if I can assume the FlexPED had no chance, if being yanked off as the person exited the car. Either AdPad is not designed to be reinstalled a second time, we would recommend a second installation with the AdPad-VHB for secure holding power.

I encourage anyone interested in this type of mount to visit the PED3-Auto product page of our main site. You will find many more features and details of this high end product, if you have any questions please send us an email and we will help you with your investment.

Sorry for not linking to the products but it most likely violates fj cruiser forums policy, but it is ok if the casual user does, so please link it up!
