JBL or Non-JBL stock stereo???

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the JBL and non-JBL stock stereo?

I need to find out which I have for an accessory I need to order.

Thanks

Re: JBL or Non-JBL stock stereo???

We don't have a JBL or non-JBL stereo. The base stereo has a black, plain-looking head unit with speakers in the front doors and dash. The upgraded stereo has a "FJammer" silver-colored head unit with built-in 6 CD changer, and includes speakers in the doors, dash, ceiling, D-pillars, and most of the time a 8" subwoofer in the cargo area.

What are you ordering?

I want to order the Blu Logic hands free phone system. But the dealer selling it says it can only work on the non-JBL factory stereo.

Ive seen in other posts that JBL manufactures one of the factory units.
But no idea which.

The black base model also has speakers in the ceiling. It doesn't have just four, it has six.

The base model will also usually have the wiring and plugs for the rear speakers in the back and the subwoofer. Just nothing installed.

I have a 2005 Highlander Limited with the JBL system. I don't think Toyota offered the JBL system in the FJ ever.

Good luck!

Re: JBL or Non-JBL stock stereo???

FJs never came with jbl radios, but other toyotas have. The oem radios in the FJ, both fjammer and non-fjammer, are made by Fujitsu of which Eclipse Audio is a division of.
