Could this switch be used/fit into empty slots?

Thinking about adding some train horns to the FJ, but want to be able to toggle them on/off when you press the horn. A switch is needed. Would these guys fit into an empty slot:

OTRATTW

I would change the label, but wasn't sure if the rocker switch itself would fit nicely. Thanks.

You shouldn't have any problem getting that to fit in most of the FJ's switch holes. Perhaps a bit of Dremel trimming in the hole itself, but it looks like the standard size that most of us have been using in lieu of an OEM switch.

as mentioned above, it wont be a simple push in fit, but a little finesse from the Dremel and you would be golden.

Yep, it looks virtually identical to these switches that I originally had in my FJ's switch panel.

I have since gone to the $12 Toyota rocker switches because the above units fizzled out as decent switches.

I used the Carling rocker switches as well. The switches I used have two lights. One comes on with the dash lights, the other comes on when the circuit is activated. $11.20 per switch. Check them out on this thread.

When you say "fizzled out", do you mean they stopped working?

Yep. The pilot lights went dead on two of them and the internal contacts on another just stopped working altogether. Not exactly a quality switch, IMO.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the switches in this photo were 4x4mod switches, not made by Carling Technology.
