I'm in a pickle. I need some help for a bone head move I made recently. Got in trouble when I tried to replace the stock dome light with LEDs. Was suppose to be simple but it went down hill fast! Here's what I've posted in the LED thread:

After almost 3 weeks, my order finally arrived. It turn out to be more an ordeal then I've expected. What was suppose to be a 2 min install turn into a 2 hour mess. Only yours truly is so gifted.
After fumbling for 5 min and slicing my finger, I finally got the light cover off. Spent another min or 2 before finding out how to depress the clasps to release the inner cover so I can get to the light bulb. With the bulb removed, it should be easy to just use the right attachments and put the LEDs in place right? Wrong! The LED is too wide and I need to separate the outer cover from the cover frame, put the led between the cover and the frame and slide the wire up to connect with the power source. Just separating the cover from the frame took a while. I got a but frustrated and just forced it. Turn out, that's the right way to do it. Anyway, so now it's ready to go in. I connected the proper connector to the power source and expect to see the sun once I turn it on. Nothing! WTH... Tried it the other way and still nothing. Confused, I took it out again and studied it. Turns out the connector is loose and the negative spade is not making contact. The wires are so thin, it's not possible to use a connector. It's been a while since I've soldered but how hard can it be right? After warning my kids to not touch it, I touched it... A cut and a burn later, I got it-I think. Getting it back into the proper place and connect. A flash of light then it's darkness. Huh? Turned out, I've left the switch in the "on" position when I put it in and shorted out something. D'oh!
Worried, I went to get the key and noticed the remote doesn't work anymore . Fortunately, once the key is in, everything else seem to work. Checked the fuses in the cabin and they all seem to be ok. Checked the fuses under the hood and there's a relay called "Dome". This must be it. Local Autozone has it for $52. Called Matt at TRDsource and he said they have it around $50 too. He did say that he doesn't believe the relay is bad and I should look for a fuse. Sure enough, there's is a 10A ATM fuse in the engine fuse box. Why didn't I see that before. Back to the Autozone and got the said fuse. The light works, the key works (remote keylock/unlock must be related to the dome light), but what's this? The traction lights are all lit up-all of them! Stumped, I decide to remove the battery and just see if it will somehow miraculously "reset". It did!
So the light works now and life is great. The light is very bright, but the material that it's made from is very low grade. The wires are ridiculously thin and the connectors are junk. What was suppose to be a 2 min. mod turn into a cut, a burn, 2 trips to the Autozone, a call to the dealer (TRDsource is Claremont Toyota), and 3 hours. After it's all said and done, I marvel at my incompetence. The FJ is ok now, but had me worried for a while. Leave it to me to mess up a 2 min. mod!
The FJ is NOT OK now. This is what I see (without the seat belt or low fuel light)
What I have that's NOT WORKING is as followed:
Dash lights showing fault
Compass
AC
Climate control fan
Parking Sensor
Turn signals (flashers work)
Recirc
RR diff lock?
ATRAC?
I've tried putting the vehicle into 4WD, but the lights won't go away. I'm not sure if I can still engage 4WD actually. I'll find out when I get out to a piece of dirt.
I've checked all the fuses and they look to be ok. I checked both the engine compartment and the driver kick panel area. Have I done something to the ECU? Did I fry a relay?
Thanks guys.

Have you looked through the FSM yet? I hope you like wiring diagrams man!
I'll have a look through to see if I can find anything common to the items you state are not working.
EDIT: Oh, and have you removed the LED lights yet?

I haven't removed the LED. It's working... You think if I remove it, the faults will go away?
Learn to love the wires
Do I think it will make the faults go away? Honestly, nope. But, if the problem didn't exist before installation of that component, then the first step in troubleshooting should be to remove said component. Replacing fuses and relays or spending hours pouring through wiring diagrams before removing the light would be akin to keeping a smoker with chronic bronchitis in a hospital for a year on ten different kinds of medication without taking away their cigarettes.

Hmm. ok. I'll do that. I'm also going to disco the battery for a longer period this time and see if something miraculous will happen. I disco it for maybe a min only last time.
