Re: suggestions on police scanners...

CB radios... Scanners.... Is someone working for a cartel?

The Passport radar/Laser detector with GPS capabilities are the best I've seen.
I've never had a ticket, ever, with any passport detector in my car. The day I got my damn piece of crap Wrangler rental, I got a ticket because I forgot to get my detector out of my truck. And yes, I've seen the valentine with its silly little arrows. Not impressed.

Just kidding about the cartel thing. Unless you are starting to run drugs. Then I'm not kidding.

Re: suggestions on police scanners...

I have a radio shack Pro 2066 for the house (can also be used with 12v in the car) and a Radio shack Pro 94 handheld thats mobile all the time. What ever you choose make sure you get one that is trunk tracking capable otherwise you wont be able to get most of the action in and around your area,Most use trunked systems. You can google the frequencies used for your area to program your unit.
It is amazing what takes place in your backyard when you monitor it all the time.I leave the one in the house on all the time and use the mobile one when out and about.Bear in mind there could be local or state regs regarding using one in your truck.
