Hey all.

Just curious as to who has a DD DVD player.
Which one do you have?
What do you like/dislike about it?
Where did you buy it?

Im lookin into getting one and am having a hard time picking one.

Thanks!
I have the AVN5435 Eclipse DD DVD player, Sirius, Navigation unit. It is 100% better sound than the FJunker. It also works great with the steering wheel controls.

Re: DoubleDin DVD Players

Does anyone have one of the Pioneer AVICS1 which was part of a package deal that they consider selling? My oldest got lost again tonight going to a high school football game. We need a resonable fix for this problem.

Re: DoubleDin DVD Players

Don't forget the hard drive. AVIC-Z1 has a hard drive that holds 200+ CDs. Works like a music library on your home computer. I love it, don't have to stow and mess with CDs. (or listen to every song on one). The downside of the AVIC is Bluetooth. They have not figured it out yet. While talking to another, they get echo feedback. It takes trial an error to figure out how to prevent that.
I doubled my DVD back through an aux switch and input to play while in motion. It does not effect the Nav system. Love the XM-module also and backup camera.

It is a pricey system, but you can buy it online (Bajangles.com) and save.

Re: DoubleDin DVD Players

I have the Avic-N2 in my Discovery. I was an installe for a very long time and have enjoyed it use for over a year now. The maps are being updated every year and can be downloaded on bittorrent. The software upgrades have added functionality to the unit. I am in the process of retiring the great but not faithful LR and am getting a Disco. Having an IPOD and not really wanting to watch movies I will be upgrading to the Avic-D2 to fill in the dash though the Avic-n2 would work. I have modded the N2 to allow input of addresses while driving and will do the same with the D2. I have not found a unit out there that has had the functionality of the Pioneer Avic series. Some of the features are better on some such as IPOD controls some worse on others tracking vehicle. Yet, Overall I have felt that the pioneer is a winner. I did not like pioneer for a long time and still do not like there other decks yet the navigation units are a winner. Good Luck. If you ahve questions or problems or need wiring diagrams let me know. I will be happy to help out!

Re: DoubleDin DVD Players

Do the Kenwoods have touch-screen NAV? Their web page says "RGB input for Nav".

My local Cartoys says the Alpine W200 is a very good unit.

You need the adaptor to control the headunit with the steering wheel and an iPod interface, Cartoys really likes the Alpine one.

NAV can also be added to it later if you wish.

There are a few W200 installs here if you hunt for them.
That is the unti I will be getting later.
