Just curious as to who has a DD DVD player.
Which one do you have?
What do you like/dislike about it?
Where did you buy it?

Im lookin into getting one and am having a hard time picking one.

I have a kenwood ddx-8017 and its fantastic, great sound, wonderful picture quality... just about all of these dd models are going to be good... goto your local shop and check them out, ask if any of the employees have one installed in their own rig, they will be happy to show it off. check out whats important to you, nav?, xm or sirus?, ipod integration?, watch dvd's while driving? just make a want list and go from there.

Re: DoubleDin DVD Players

I've got the Kenwood DDX8017 also, it's truly incredible. It would be nice if it had a hard drive and took flash cards, but that's what the music keg is for (compatible) and it would be nice if it had bluetooth to use it as a hands free, but really, who does that? Other than that, I've been nothing but happy in the 2 years I've had the unit (transferred it out of my Tacoma).. I putthe TV, NAVI, HD Radio, sat radio and aux modules on it. I'm very happy so far. Ran the video line outs to rear screens for the kids, I can have the kids watching DVD's in the back, while I watch the NAVI screen and have the front speakers playing my Sat Radio while the rear speakers are playing the DVD soundtrack (having the sub playing the music up front doesn't work well though.

Re: DoubleDin DVD Players

I bought my 8017 in 2005, and I don't think they had compatability built into mine for that yet. I don't see it listed anywhere for the 8017 either. But thank you, I did see that.

Re: DoubleDin DVD Players

You need a DD kit (off Ebay works). The space for the head unit in the FJ is wider than a standard DD - for those planning on their own installs.
