iPod Nano via TuneFlex from Griffin Technology

Although I've already ordered a ProClip to mount my 1st Generation iPod Nano in nearly the same place with a Dice kit...thought I'd post a picture of my stopgap installation. It was/is my iPod Nano connected to a Griffin TuneFlex for Nano.

Only about $50...plugs directly into the accessory power and AUX input. I originally used this with the Nano sticking up near the right side of the dash by the heater controls...made viewing the Nano's display and changing songs easier...but then I opted for the out of the way location...as that is where I intend to mount my Nano for use with the Dice kit. Still easily accessible, viewable and yet not standing out for every nosey person who peeks into the interior of the FJ.

My only gripe with the TuneFlex is that my standard collection of iTunes is just a hair not loud enough at FJammer MAX volume. I could probably remedy by increasing the saved volume on the Nano but just haven't gotten around to it. Otherwise it is great. It keeps the iPod always charged (it puts the Nano into Sleep mode like 30 seconds after the power to the accessory port is shutoff)...allows for easily viewing track, art, etc...and all controls on the iPod are still accessible. Just can't do it from the steering wheel. Oh and the toxic skin was from decalgirl dot com.

Re: iPod Nano via TuneFlex from Griffin Technology

The stereo mini plug is a 6' Philips from Radio Shack (#G2G101) for about $5.

If I was sticking with this I would have gone to the gonzo quality 2' Mogami ipod cable from RamElectronics for about $18.
