I listen to golf on the radio, and, in truth, that's the original reason I went with XM instead of Sirius. The "XM going out of business" rumor is nonsense - they currently have over twice the subscribers that Sirius does. The more plausible scenario would be one buying the other out. As far as Howard Stern, the biggest draw that Sirius has, it's widely discussed in the radio industry that the number of new subscribers as a result of his move away from terrestrial radio has been disappointing in consideration of his $500,000,000 contract.
That must be exciting listining to I hope you enjoy that. Me I will stick to watching golf on TV and passing out during it. As far as XM having more subscibers you are correct but they have a law suit pending against them and them have more expenses that Sirius does.

Well, definitely more exciting than listening to NASCAR on the radio - it just depends upon what you're into.
The lawsuit against XM by RIAA will eventually extend to Sirius as well. It's an attempt by the recording industry to extract payments for what they consider "distribution" of music by satellite radio. Sirius made an agreement for hefty payments to RIAA, and XM offered the same, but RIAA refused because their lawyers contended that this "set a precedence of a la carte device settlements". It's a real mess, and could certainly affect the future of satellite radio.
And we, the consumers, will suffer.

Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge are reasons for me not to have Sirius I think both are no talent hacks especially Bubba . But then again I'm all about listening to Opie and Anthony and Ron and Fez( which is my favorite of the 2)
There is to much talk on the music channels for my taste on Sirius if I want to listen to a lame a$$ed DJevery other song I'll listen to regular radio.

We have had both XM and Sirius and both of us agree that Sirius is far better than XM. Navigation from one genre to the next, a more logical layout of channels, as well as better content makes Sirius a better choice. Both of our vehicles now have XM, and we wish that we had Sirius.

I've always thought Sirius's layout was the pits. Everytime I've had it in a rental the channal layout seems to have been designed by a kid with a dartboard.

I jumped into bed with XM last year so I could get my hands on the MyFi truely portable sat radio to use in the bush and on the kayak. Its nice to be in the hunt camp or ice fishing with the sat radio.
So, I went with XM in the FJ as well. But I must say after switching my MyFi with a friend for a couple of weeks I truyely like the programming on the Sirius better. I actually have the Sirius hooked up using the fm modul. Problem is it sounds tinny using the fm. May have to pull the XM unit, and hard wire a Sirius.
