Re: XM or Sirius?

Why not both? I have them in my FJ-- You can listen to the best of both.

I thought about it and this whole stereo system thing has taken on a life all of it's own and I'm trying to not push the wife over the edge which she is very close to. I know that I would be happy with one because it is more than what I have now. For being a tech freak I am behind the times in some aspects such as sat. radio and i-pod's but the FJ is getting me back into it. Baby steps, baby steps!

Re: XM or Sirius?

Aside from programming differences, my experience with both in my vehicle is that XM's terrestrial repeater works well in medium to large cities( where they would have the antenna) but XM experiences very few sat dropouts. Sirius , on the other hand loses sat signal frequently.. very frustrating. Sirius dropout is not a vehicle specific problem.. my S550 has the same problem.

Re: XM or Sirius?

Howard Stern is worth the pennies per day to listen to... Nascar and all the music is just a plus. Sirius All The Way!

I have had Sirius and NEVER had a dropout! You should say that "you" had a problem not Sirius. I drove across the country and all over the place without a problem. I have also had 3 different players without any problem. Maybe you need to install your antenna better.

Re: XM or Sirius?

XM has more repeaters, therefore better signal.

With Sirius you might accidentally tune in to Stern and smash the receiver.

That gets expensive.

Howard Stern & NFL = Sirius
Opie & Anthony & MLB = XM

At least thats the main difference from my perspective
Sirius - Bubba the Love Sponge and NASCAR (2007)
XM - Oprah's Station (she does a whole 1/2 hour a week) - Actually the Oprah friends and issues channels.

I have had both - I love Sirius!!

Howard and Bubba are great and Octane ROCKS!!
