mine is a licence plate mounted camera the lense must be wide angle becasue the view is awesome id have to say i love it because it is very functional. It runs through my Alpine head unit so when i put it in reverse it automatically comes on screen. the camera is very slim and fits nicely you cant even notice it is there. and if ya bored while driving or just want to check out whats behind ya just click visual and hit camera and it goes to camera view way cool! here is a pic from the trail last week.

1) The price is high, I got a system for < $100.
2) If you need reading glasses, you will need a larger monitor
3) If I buy another BU camera, I will go with a wired system, sometimes there is too much interference with the wireless ones.

I have the Kenwood backup camera mounted on my license plate frame. Works great. I also had the installer set it up so that I can turn it on manually even if the FJ is not in reverse.

I picked up this backup camera at Costco. Really works well. Currently I have it wired into the tail-lights at the trailer plug and zipped tied to the spoke of my spare.
What I think I will do is mount plugs front and aft so the camera is portable for those times when the trail is hard to see going forward or backward. The camera is wireless to the monitor. I have the monitor hardwired to my unswitched 12v below the drivers glovebox.

i like mine... camera's under the rear bumper, about 5 inches to the passenger side of the hitch... haven't had any issues with it wheeling, but would like it a little higher to get a better perspective.... i'm planning on re-running it and putting it up on the roof rack, angled down to give me a fish-eye view that just barely includes the FJ... I like the sonar, but sometimes I like to get "damn close" when I'm parking or backing up on the trail (ie. trees/rocks)... I really could probably just keep it where it is, and do some "practice" with "how large an object appears" but would rather it be much simpler...
