AVIC-D3 Info fresh from SEMA!

Ok, first of all, do you know how to tell if a vehicle is hot?
You see more of it than any other at SEMA. And let me tell you guys, we saw more FJ's at SEMA than any other car. I took a ton of pics, some related to the interior, some to the exterior, and I will post most on our vendor forum rather than clutter things up here.

We saw a few very exciting things, and this was one of the electronics ones.
Here is the New AVIC-D3 from Pioneer:
It will NOT be availible till next year according to Pionner, so don't hold your breath, but it's a very cool piece.

The Highlights:
-CD/DVD Playback
-Bluetooth Compatibility
-NEW Ipod Interface. I played with it, and it was pretty fast, it will also do VIDEO! so you can stream your video from the Ipod to the D3 and leave the DVDs at home.
-Front panel Mini Jack, convenient for any audio device connection.

Did not get the price from em, but based on what i have seen in the past I suspect it will be right around the D2 Price, no more than $1500, possibly $1400

i can stream ipod video on my DUAL 8185.

You can plug any video source into most screens, but in how many of them can you put the IPod in the glove box and control the video playback directly from the head unit?

I really like the price, but don't like the screen size so much, I can't believe I didn't notice that at the show, then again if I didn't notice the difference between 6.5" and 6.1" it can't be all that bad, wonder how small it will look next to a Z1/Z2 I did like the button layout and overall design alot better than then D2.
At $1100 you are getting a nav+ unit for roughly the same price you were playing for a regular double din screen last year. That's pretty good, I think they are going to sell a ton of these.

that's a great price! how much is the iPod interface?

I'm gonna have to pick one up when they come out.
