Re: Overstock.Com @ Channel AMP Audiobahn A2002T

Granted we come from a mid to high end type of show, but there is an old saying in the car stereo biz.

If you have a bad amp, chrome it, if it doesn't sell, put some more chrome on it.

The price is nice, but the product is so-so, and the warranty is 30 days.

Personally I would rather spend $100-$120 on an amp that was more powerful and cleaner.

Pioneer Electronics - Sound. Vision. Soul

Would be a decent choice and you can buy it for about $70-$80 online.

A head unit without preouts is a bad things, it doesn't matter very much in an amp unless you want to sent a signal thru it.
Are you trying to power 2 speakers or a sub with the amp?

You guys are great for taking the time, I really appreciate it. I want to keep the stock deck. But i want to run the following:

Front Dash and Rear Pillars 3 1/2 mb quart MB Quart DKC 108 Car Speakers

Front Doors 6 1/2 MB Quart Add on Woofer MB Quart RCE 164 - • • • • • Descr...

Passenger Seat Pannel 5 1/4 Component w/ Sep tweeter MB Quart RCE 213 - 5-1/4" Reference Ser...

Use the deck to power the front and rear 3 1/2 and the amps for the woofers and components.

Re: Overstock.Com @ Channel AMP Audiobahn A2002T

Man you have alot of speakers going on

A few things... Does the crossover of the addawoofer allow for the components to be connected to it as well?
How often do you have passangers in the rear?
The easiest thing to do IMO is let the rear pillars go, they will do virtually nothing for you in the front especially with the very limited range of the 3 1/2 speakers.
I would really recomend a 4 chan amp if the setup allows for it and run the 61/2 off the front chans, and the 5 1/4 off the rear chan. If you can't run the 3 1/2 and 6 1/2 together i would run the 3" and 5 1/4 off the deck and the adawoofer off the amp. Just remember to put some caps/bass blockers in line with the speakers. You will need a high to low adapter for the amp, and i would run it off the front speaker output of the radio to have them run from the same chan as the front dash speakers to keep your fader more or less correct.

If you have not purchased the equipment yet, what i would do is simply run RCE216 in the front and RCE213's in the back. Mount the front speaker's tweeter on the dash where the 3 1/2 was. Get a 4 chan amp to run the whole thing, I would recomend the Alpine MRPF450 ~$200. If you want to keep the rear pillar speakers leave them running by the radio, but i would really disconnect them.
That will give you a good combination of control and sound quality.
Running 4 pairs of speakers probably would not give you the best sound performance vs 2 pairs of well balanced speakers.

Hope that helps.

It says it does. They are made to work with the 5 1/4 components. I havent purchased the dash or pillars yet. I do have 3 1/2s in now, and they sound great, so i thought of replacing them and adding rears as well.

Re: Overstock.Com @ Channel AMP Audiobahn A2002T

I would just do tweeters in the dash (to match the front 6 1/2"), and hear what it sounds like.
Once you go beyond the 2 pairs of speakers things get a little messy.

What if I go with 4 inch component mid ranges in the rear pillar. So it would look like this. 3 1/2 in dash, 6 1/2 add on woof in doors, 5 1/4 component in the passener cut out and 4 mid components in the rear pillar. Would do a 4x70 Alpine amp think i saw it for 198 and a 4x40 for the 4's and 3 1/2.
