OK so we all know how to disable our DRL by disconecting the the connector behind the headlight or by pulling the emergency brake and turn off and on FJ.....
the million dollar question is, has any one run a switch to the dash so you can turn them on and off??....QUOTE]

Yup. Works great. Used the Taco switch.

i was at a drive in theater this summer, glad i didn't take the fj. the drl's would have been a pain when i started thre motor to get a little ac relief during the movie.
As the very first post in this thread now says, the DRL's would not come on unless you took off the parking brake...

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

Thanks for ALL of the info gang... I am going to do the quick and easy connector mod. Wife has driven off with DRLs on and no tail lights!! Oops.

Not sure why this has taken 18 pages of this forum though!

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

Did everything I possibly could to try and pry the connector
off there but nothing was working. My hand fit in there ok and
tried for about 15 minutes. Pulling the fuse doesn't work so I'm
not sure what to do. Maybe have someone do it unless there is a
trick someone has.

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

It took me about 6 tries over two days. It does disconnect.

Try, try again.

Yep, not easy. It helped me if it was turned or tilted up a little. Smaller hands work good too if you have a small handed friend!

Body position is important. Seriously. Put your left hip against the bumper directly in front of the headlight and use your left hand. Palm facing the rear of the truck, wrist bent backwards, use your index finger to push the release and slide the plug towards the driver side fender.
