Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

I will, but for now, the terms mod and sticky are new to me. I'll figure it out.

My apologies. A moderator of this site can take a comment and "stick" it to where it is a permanent fixture at the top of a forum page. In this case, they just took a couple of answers that were buried in all of these comments and "stuck" them at the beginning of the thread. Where did you find your answer?

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

Apology accepted, but not necessary. What do "stickies" look like and where do they appear in a post? Are they very common? I searched through the first five pages of posts and couldn't identify one. Once I find the source (somewhere in the first 200 postings), who do I contact (the mod?).

Don't be flattered, but I added you to my "buddy list" for easy contact. I recognize a good resource when I see one.

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

I dont know if this was said before on this thread but why would you want your DRL off? I saw a study where having your lights on minimizes your chances of getting hit by 30% (I learned it in traffic school!) becuase the human eye is naturally attracted to light (thats why us "SMART" humans always tend to look at the light of a welder even though we are not supposed to!) and well I dont know if its true or not about the 30% but hey why risk it! Hopefully they did their HW right and well its true!

No flattery taken

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

Thanks. I also have some good info on a locking gas cap (already covered but not easy to find), headlight shields, and a clear windshield protection film to prevent rock damage. All three are installed on my FJ. No need to respond. I' done for tonight.

If you use your FJ for other thing than running around on the pavement you will find out. Just try and drive up to 30 or 40 surf fishers around midnight with your lights on.

Yep, and when I back into my garage I like to turn them off so that I don't blind the neighbor watching TV!!

This has been discussed in depth here... check one of the first posts:

That light comes on at 5k miles to tell you to change your oil. Probably just coincidence that you unplugged the DRLs around the same time. What's your mileage?
