I'm still confused about an on-off switch for the air curtains. There was a blue FJC at the Kansas City Auto Show that listed the air curtains on the option sheet, but when I looked for the off switch on the dash it wasn't there.
As I previously posted: there is no switch to disable the airbags, as they are not roll-sensing airbags, just side-impact sensing.

The switch is to activate the proximity sensor for the port installed security system upgrade.

Love ya, mean it!

see here: http://www.fjcruiserlife.com/tsb/200...isable_drl.pdf

It may require someone on here to have a subscription to the tech site to get the current bulletins, but they'es a tech bulletin somewhere as to how......

love ya mean it!

I agree that it would be nice to be able to override the lights when: (1) you go to your car to warm up, or get out of the wind/rain, (2) drive slowly up a trail where you hope to see wild life, and/or (3) want to turn the key to listen to the radio in a non-driving situation.

well, all of these with the exception of #2 would be taken care of by the fact that they go off when you pull up the E brake....

when the engine is started, a signal from the generator is input into terminal a14 of the body ecu. the wire that carries this signal is green with a gray stripe. it can be found leaving the DRL relay in one of the relay blocks under the hood. The rest is up to you.

I AN NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU **** YOUR **** UP!
don't know where you got your info from but it is the gray wire connector E6 pin 14 at the body ecu. Or gray wire connector C2 pin 4 at the generator.

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

In my tahoe, the parking break is the activator...

If I want to go in stealth mode I just depress it until it catches the first click, the parking break is not engaged but the DRL thinks it is...

Not sure if Toyotas work the same way....

Re: turn the DRL's OFF!

Look - I live in an area of Colorado with a very high concentration of tourist traffic. I'm not saying their bad people, hell they pay my wage! However when people come from sealevel to 8200+ feet. they get a bit distracted by our wonderful scenery and the added need for speed to get to the slopes for "rope drop". I run with my lights on all the time - I want every advantage I can to get home to my loved ones and have another chance at making "rope drop" first tracks as well!
