I went with the single din due to cost reason as well as I wanted to be able to hide the unit out of site if I was going to be in a rough area of town. Plus I was able to pick this model up for $700 new with a 3 year warranty. No bounce so far, I get crystal clear reception. I may later on get a double din, but I'm having a blast so far with this one. I have XM radio, IPOD interface, DVD and voice command. I have replace all lights except for side mirrors with PIAA's. I also took out the stock horn and replaced with a 139 DB airhorn unit. Next on the list is brush guard and air dam w/ lights for roof rack.

That is a good deal. I would 'settle' for the single din at that price easily.
Do you find the screen messes around with the vents behind it (or your ability to adjust them)? Any issues with the screen heating up if you've got the heater blasting (yes, I am from southern california, but it has been below freezing the past 5 or 6 nights, and the heater has been getting used extensively to warm me and my 5 month old boy on our way to daycare/work).
