Thanks to everyone in the forum who have helped tremendously with your posts!!!!! This was the first system I installed and did it all myself and everything ran smoothly with the posts!!!!!! So, now that my HU,XM,speakers and speaker covers are complete I was wanting some suggestions on a decent amp. I have speakers that have a recommendation of 60RMS. So, im looking for a 4 channel amp somehwere in the 60-70 range. I'm not going to run any subs. I have been looking for a while now. Im looking to stay below $150 for the amp. I've found a few but not sure on there quality........ So any suggestions on these or others would be extremely helpful.

KENWOOD KAC8402
KICKER ZX 350.4 OR THE KX VERSION

Thanks in advance for all the help!
There's not much choices on a 4ch amplifier at the $150 mark. Might want to look into Coustic, Profile, Pioneer, or Audiovox. If you can spend just a bit more (like $100+) you can move into the next level....
I've had good luck with Pioneer and Coustic. These are great, cheap, light duty amps that last quite a long time. Your not going to win any sound quality contest, but they sound fine for what they are. Plus, you can afford to buy other stuff for the trail....

Well, im not looking to win any awards or even come close really. I just want the speakers I have to perform optimally. Im assuming when you say 100+ your saying in the $250 range? I can get a pioneer 6200 for around $150 along with the Kenwood KAC 8402. I was just wondering if they really put out a solid 60 watts. Or if anyone had suggestions on a better option.

Given the choice, and whether you can get a 4ch Kenwood for that price, I vote the Kenwood. They have always made great amplifiers...60rms x 4, for $150? Sounds pretty good.
With that said, for $250 yes you can get a much better quality amplifier. You are starting to enter the Alpine price point, or JL, or Kicker...etc
Here is a great resource, and also a great place to buy from. I've bought several amps and acc's from these guys at good prices...No Alpine though.
Yea, I know I can get the Kenwood for $145 and the pioneer 6200 for $130. I can get some used kicker's, JL or alpines in the $150 price range but im thinking id rather just get the new Kenwood and know what im getting.

I've always steered clear of used amplifiers. I'm with you on that one.
Take a look at the Kicker series though. I think they start in the high $100's for a 4ch, but are very good. sounddomain.com has reviews too, as I know Circuit City does.
I would stay clear of the MTX and JBL as I see allot of those refurbished for sale on eBay.
Good luck, and let us know what you decide!

For your system $150. will get you a nice amp. kenwood or Pioneer are safe choices to power your new speakers. Check out search link upper right center. You'll find several web sites offering discount amps and detailed advise. Switching speakers was the key. Don't buy used unless it's from a friend. Have some fun with the search.

Just remember this when purchasing and amp...
A good amp isn't cheap and a cheap amp isn't good.
For speakers with a high RMS, Like the ones you bought, you want to go with an amp that is rated just a little higher than the RMS. That way the signals are a lot more steadier across the wave length, thus the sound is a lot more clearer and crisper

I have the Pioneer 6200. It fits perfectly under the passenger seat and provides PLENTY of power. I would highly reccommend it. I have used Pioneer equipment in 3 of my previous vehicles with no problems.

So, your'e suggesting a amp wattage of 60-70 then? I just didnt know if this constant power output would cause problems with the speakers later on.
